Headline News: Oregon State Hospital now sending encounters to PointClickCare
On September 16, the PointClickCare network in Oregon invited a new data contributor—the Oregon State Hospital! Both Salem and Junction City campuses are sending real-time notifications to PointClickCare which are treated as inpatient psychiatric encounters and should be visible now in the patient encounter history in PCC. Click here to see more information. While traditionally some care partners like CCOs have received email notifications or other means of being alerted to state hospital encounters, this feed will now provide real-time insights to the full care team on PCC—providers, CCOs, and other end users.
This addition marks an exciting milestone: HIT Commons has supported the PointClickCare network in Oregon for a full decade! What began in 2014 as a means to get a handle on emergency department utilization has developed organically into a living, breathing care coordination platform and network. In addition to adding the state hospital, we are seeing criminal justice entities, school districts, housing providers, and others explore how to engage this network to provide better, and more coordinated services to shared clients.
